A Bit About Me

I am political scientist dedicated to helping solve some of our world's most pressing issues related to natural hazards, including finding climate change solutions, mitigating harm to those who are at highest risk, and developing best practices for humans and nature to live in harmony.

My research is driven by a philosophy of collaboration, where community organizations, community members, local government officials, decisionmakers, researchers, and everyday people are involved in identifying problems and finding solutions together.

My research also centers on those who are in most need, lifting all ships with the rising tide.

I am pushed do what is ethnically and morally just in both my work and in life, and held accountable by my six siblings—who are simultaneously my biggest champions and the biggest pains in my butt.
